A member of the Medical Wellness Associates team since 1984, William Fischer, DC, DABCO, has served as a treating Doctor of Chiropractic and, since 2015, as Assistant Clinical Director of the practice. He is a board-certified chiropractic orthopedist and distinguished Fellow of the Academy of Chiropractic Orthopedists. The FACO distinction represents advanced training and achievement of high levels of clinical excellence and demonstrates a commitment to the specialty of Chiropractic Orthopedics through ongoing research, continuing education, and improved clinical outcomes. Dr. Fischer also served on the board of the American College of Chiropractic Orthopedists serving as Secretary, Vice President and President.
In addition to tending to the demands of the clinical department, Dr. Fischer conducts most of the new patient interviews/histories for Dr. Gallagher. At MWA, a holistic understanding of each patient is vital; the in-depth history is crucial in helping to solve the myriad of health conditions that MWA patients present with.
Dr. Fischer is also instrumental in data collection for various Institutional Research Board studies that the physicians of MWA participate in. These studies are important for validating the safety and efficacy of the cutting-edge therapies that MWA offers.
In his spare time, Dr. Fischer enjoys spending time with his wife, children, grandchildren and maintaining an active lifestyle. He enjoys running (completing 20 marathons, including five Boston Marathon finishes), cycling, sailing, skiing, cooking, and watching sunsets over Lake Erie.
